Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (+ UltraViolet Digital Copy) [Blu-ray 3D] by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment

In its very best seconds, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is an amusingly gonzo popcorn movie fueled via the blended manic power of its big name, Nicolas Cage, who reprises his flip because the tormented Marvel Comics antihero, and directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (Crank, Gamer). The trio's efficiencys in front of and at the again of the digicam appear to indicate their want for Spirit of Vengeance to be recognized not as a sequel to the wan 2007 Ghost Rider film, but reasonably an entity unto itself, and actually, the picture does work additional time to distance itself from its predecessor, from its fast-and-loose origin rewrite at the picture's opening to its tonal shift in opposition to darker, meaner territory. That would not entirely translate into a better movie: although the script, according to a story through David S. Goyer (Blade, Batman Begins), undergos greater resemblance to its comedian book foundations than its predecessor, its story, which ships the Ghost Rider on a mission to supply safety to the son of Satan (Ciarán Hinds), is unable to string its numerous components, which embody a listless rendition of veteran heel Blackout (Johnny Whitworth), po-faced, hellogh-tech monks led by way of Christopher Lambert, and Idris Elba's fighting priest, together with varied exorcisms, rituals, and come-and-go energys, right into a cohesive and believable film. That, after all, may make no difference to viewers who have come for the sheer spectacle, which, regardless of a a great deal diminished budget, is provided in spades by Neveldine/Taylor's caffeinated route and Cage's via-now trademark appearing excesses (in hellos most unfettered seconds, Cage techniques Klaus Kinski/Timothy Carey levels of surroundings consumption)..
